Participation rules
1) The 1st edition of the Jolizco International Film Festival will take place virtually from January 3 to March 31, 2025. This is a competitive event aimed at promoting and highlighting narrative feature films in fiction, documentary, animation, or hybrid formats.

2) The minimum duration for feature films is 60 minutes, and they must have been completed after January 2010.
3) Works must be presented in their original language, with subtitles in Spanish or English. For Spanish-speaking countries, subtitles will only be required for scenes with dialogues in a language or dialect other than Spanish.
4) Registration for the festival must be done through the FilmFreeway platform. The registration period will end on March 15, 2025.
5) The Selection Jury will choose, from the registered feature films, those that will be part of the Competitive Sections. The results will be communicated by the Festival to the filmmakers and announced on the Festival's website no later than April 15, 2025.
6) Among the official selection feature films, those suitable for in-person screenings will also be chosen.
7) The Festival’s Management may add additional awards and categories to those established in the corresponding section.
8) The Selection Jury will establish its internal regulations in coordination with the Festival’s management. Its decisions are final and confidential. The verdict will be announced on the last day of the Festival.
9) Representatives of the selected works must provide the Festival with the following materials, in addition to the screening copy (without embedded subtitles): subtitle files in Spanish or English in .srt format (if applicable), a synopsis, technical sheet, the film’s poster, at least three (3) stills from the film, and one (1) photograph of the director.
10) The Festival may use excerpts from selected works (up to 3 minutes) for promotional purposes, both for the current edition and future editions.
11) Selected works will be showcased on the Festival’s website for the duration of the event.
12) The directors or producers of the selected works must own the feature film and hold all rights to the film and its components. The Festival is not responsible for disputes or potential infringements of these rights, which remain the responsibility of the registrant.
13) Directors or producers may submit more than one work, but each submission must be registered independently.
14) Registration fees are non-refundable.
15) Registering any feature film for the Jolizco International Film Festival implies acceptance of these terms, which are subject to interpretation and application by the Festival’s Management.
